COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
DISPENSER, COMPRESSIBLE BOTTLE, CONDIMENT
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to MIL-D-21757.
1. ABSTRACT.
1.1 Abstract. This commercial item description covers the following two sizes of plastic, compressible, two component, condiment dispenser bottles:
Size 1- 8 fluid ounce
Size 2- 12 fluid ounce
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction. The condiment dispenser shall consist of a body and conical cap/cover fabricated from a polyethylene or similar plastic material. The body shall have a minimum inside diameter of 3/4 inches and the cap shall have a conical spout terminating in the dispensing orifice with the opposite end containing a shoulder utilizing one or two complete female threads. The top of the body shall have a male thread that engages the female threaded portion of the cap in a way that ensures a snug fit. The following essential characteristics shall also apply to the condiment dispenser:
(1) It shall be designed so that dispensing occurs when the condiment dispenser is inverted and pressure applied to both sides of the body. Upon release of pressure, the condiment shall cease flowing from the cap.
(2) It shall be designed to adhere to the following deformation test: Fill the samples with water and completely immerse them in a suitable container. The dispensers shall not be in contact with each other or the
