COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TRAY, MESS, COMPARTMENTED, PLASTIC
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to MIL-T-43271, and A-A-2605.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers five and six compartmented plastic mess trays that are used in the field, standard service mess halls, Navy shipboard, and in post, camp, and station hospitals.
2. CLASSIFICATION
2.1 Classification. The mess trays shall be in the following types and classes:
Type I – Five compartmented (see figure 1)
Type II – Six compartmented, right handed (see figure 2)
Type III – Six compartmented, left handed (see figure 3)
Class 1 – Polycarbonate (see 3.1)
Class 2 – Melamine-formaldehyde (see 3.1)
