WATER SET (Plastic)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description describes a water set kept at bedside for the convenience of in-patient use.
Salient characteristics. Water set, plastic (polyethylene or polypropylene), disposable, gold, tan, mint green, or white. Set consists of a rectangular tray, 1 quart (0.946 Liter) bottle/carafe with snug fitting lid, minimum 7 ounce (207 ml) capacity tumbler. The tumbler shall have a smooth, rounded drinking edge. the bottle/carafe and tumbler shall both sit evenly on a flat surface. All components to be the same material and color; set prepackaged.
If reground plastic from the normal molding process is used, it shall not exceed 50% of the blend.
The water set shall be supplied clean and sanitary, free from objectionable odor, cracks, holes or thin areas.
Workmanship. The water set shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. The unit of issue shall appear in the solicitation.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the government. The government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
