container. The water shall be heated to 180°F and held at the temperature for 15 minutes. The samples shall then be removed and allowed to cool to room temperature. No evidence of permanent deformation shall occur.
(3) It shall be designed and constructed so that it is free of burrs, slivers, stains, discolorations, pits, bubbles, scratches, crevices, foreign inclusions or voids and that it is not adversely affected by scape, detergents or chlorine.
(4) It shall be designed so that it is inherently hygienic, requiring minimal maintenance/cleaning when used in a dining facility environment.
(5) It shall hold, store, and dispense standard liquid condiments such as ketchup, honey, maple syrup, and mustard.
(6) It shall be easily refillable from a bulk supply.
(7) It shall be storable in a refrigerator at temperatures down to 33°F without detrimental effects on either the container or its contents.
(8) It shall be dishwasher safe at water temperatures to 212°F and the intended use of the dispenser shall not be adversely affected by hot water up to and including 212°.
2.2 Codes and Standards. The condiment dispenser shall conform to Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and Regulations Promulgated Thereunder: 12 CFR 121: Subpart F-Food Additives Resulting from Contact with Containers or Equipment and Food Additives Otherwise Affecting Food and the National Sanitation Foundation Standard No. C-2, Special Equipment and/or Devices.
2.3 Identification markings. The condiment dispensers shall be permanently and legibly marked with the manufacturer’s identification marking. Use of “stick-on” or removable labels is prohibited.
3. QUALITY ASSURANCE
3.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify, and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
3.2 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerance specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376, and all other
