3.2 Finish. The pitcher shall be finished to the equivalent of a No.2BA, Bright Annealed, or better as defined in the American Iron and Steel Institute’s handbook, Finishes for Stainless Steel, on all visible surfaces.

3.3 Marking. The pitcher shall be marked with the manufacturer’s name, trade name, or trademark if such known character that the source of the pitcher may be readily determined.

3.4 Workmanship. The water pitchers shall be clean and free from any burrs, slivers,scratches, rough die or gaouge marks, pits, rust or scale. The pitchers shall be not fractured, buckled, bent, punctured, malformed, or damaged.

3.5 National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) compliance. Prior to approval of first shipment, the contractor shall submit to the contracting officer or his authorized representative satisfactory evidence that the items offered meet the applicable requirements of NSF Standard No.2. Satisfactory evidence of this compliance may be any of the following:

A listing in the current edition of the NSF “Listing of Food Service Equipment” and display of the NSF seal on the finished item, or

A certification issued by NSF under this special one-time contract evaluation/certification service, or

A certified test report from a recognized independent testing laboratory acceptable to the contracting officer or authorized representative of the service for which the items are being procured, indicating that the item has been tested and conforms to NSF Standard No.2.

3.6 Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable.

3.7 Metric Product. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of FED-STD-376, and all other requirements of this commercial item description are met.

3.8 Commercial Item. The use of the term “commercial item description” in this document does not imply that an y item or items offered are not required to conform with all requirements specified herein.
