5.6.2 Dimensional examination. The end item sample trays shall be examined (measured) for conformance to the dimensions specified in figures 1, 2, or 3, as applicable. The sample unit shall be three (3) trays. Any dimension not within the specified tolerance shall be classified as a defect. Any tray in the end item sample unit containing one or more defects with regard to dimensions shall be cause for rejection of the lot.
5.6.3 End item testing.
5.6.3.1 Resistance to boiling detergent test. The sample unit for this test shall be one (1) tray. The tray shall be completely immersed for 1 hour in a boiling 0.3 solution of dishwashing detergent conforming to A-A-682. Distilled water shall be used to make the solution. The level of detergent solution shall be maintained throughout the test period. At the expiration of the 1 hour period, the tray shall be removed and rinsed in clear hot water and allowed to air dry. After drying, the tray shall be examined for the presence of any of the defects specified in 3.5. Any test failure shall be cause for rejection of the lot.
