COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PITCHER, VACUUM
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Federal Specification
RR-P-375 which has been canceled.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers a one-liter vacuum pitcher.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction.
2.1.1 Outer shell. The outer shall be formed of modified polystyrene or other suitable plastic.
2.1.2 Inner shell. The replaceable glass filler shall be formed of clear lime or borosilicitate glass, fully annealed and shall be securely held within body by means of a rubber retainer at the neck and a shock absorber at the bottom. The pitcher shall have a capacity of 1 liter, plus 0.25 liter, minus 0.1 liter.
2.1.3 Lip and Handle. The lip and handle when not an integral part of the outer shell shall be formed of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), clear acrylic plastic, or other suitable plastic.
